Default About the beast Tamer

I talked with my guildmate about something that could be interesting for those who use a pet. When you remove a pet and you want a new 1, you need to start all over again. But if you wish to return to you previous animal, you need to restart another one again, etc.

My idea was an upgrade for the Tamer. For your account, you can take your pets that you have charmed before at the level that you give it to the Tamer off course.

For example, If you did an Elder Wolf level 20 and give to the tamer, you can select the Elder Wolf but you can't have the Dire Wolf or Hearty Wolf because you havent unlocked and give it to the tamer. Its like the hat trader but with pets in all.
I thought about paying some gold too to get the pet (counter part when we gives our pet and receive gold exploit if needed). And off course, you need to be level 20 (require). I don't want to see a level 5 with a level 20 Hearty Moa in the battle arena of ascalon... or you get the pet with the same level as you.

If you wish a pet that you don't have from the tamer, then you need to make it lvl 20 (Elder, Dire or Hearty) and give it to the tamer.

What do you think everyone?

I like the idea of being able to switch pets, I've had Spid for nearly 2 years now and while I love him to bits I wouldn't mind a change every now and again

But I'm thinking that the Hall of Monuments in GW:EN might do something like this, there is a pet monument so there must be some way if 'unlocking' a pet for it without hopefully losing the pet that you already own

A guildmate of mine once suggested a signet of capture/charm animal hybrid skill for pets. Equip the signet, charm the pet, and it turns into a "Charm Black Moa" or "Charm Phoenix" skill. This would actually remove the need for both tamers and charm animal, but would be easier on those of us who want a choice in our companions.

And how do you manage the 'dire/elder/hearty' status?

You need to make them Hearty/Dire/Elder first (the old way, I alway thought its going fast anyway)... to lvl 20 offcourse.

And I thought about to arrange like the skills option, placed in categories (All elder pets are placed in same categorie as the 'Elder pets' you have unlocked and same thing to the others)

In all, it would be like:

[+]Elder pets
-Wolf
-Spider
-Melandru Stalker
-Etc.
[-]Hearty pets
[-]Dire pets

(The [+] and [-] is like in the skills windows to show or not the list in the same categories)

Locked pet will be in grey, showing that you havent unlocked and in white while unlocked.

That would be... 20*3=60 animal companions to train...

Wouldn't be much easier just to store them always as Elder and let you change their status with something like this? :

Perhaps to add some title like... 4 titles: 1 for each status and 1 for all pet.

In that case, it should be like:

-Dire Tamer
-Hearty Tamer
-Elder Tamer
-King/Queen of the animals

Or something like that. Its just another idea with it.

Add:
After checking your thread Mithran, I love the Insignia Concept if we put elder only. But it must be accepted first and already implanted in it. I have plenty of ideas but I can't show them all in one thread when I talk about something specific (for pets in town instead showing our minipet but its for another time)

Easiest way to get every pet woukld be changing the tame skill into a signet, that is used like a signet of capture, as mentioned above and every single different pet, u've catched becomes then an own Skill that u have to take with u.
In this manner it would even be possible, maybe as Beast Master to take more then 1 Pet with u, what would be very awesome.

Change then Beast Mastery conditions in:

Every 5 points u can take 1 more Pet with u, so at beast Mastery 15 u could take then 3 different pets with u, and the "Beast Master-Build" will become finally a Beast Master how it should be, imo a beast Master is no Beast Master with only 1 animal at his/her side.
In the same name tv series the beast master there has too 3 different beasts at his side, a lion, a falcon and 2 little hermelins.

Example:
U have now a Signet of Tamery with u, u use it on a Tiger, tame it and the signet will change into the Skill "Lord of the Tiger" U catch a phoenix... Signet will change into Skill "Lord of the Phoenix". U caught a Black Widow .... "Lord of the Black Widow" and so on ...

Now i made Beast Mastery 15 and am able, to put those 3 beasts i tamed - tiger, phoenix and black widow for example into my skill bar (those 3 lord skills now)

So i'm left then with 5 free skill slots. the skills system must be changed then a bit too, when u use attack skills, players would have then to click 1 of their pets first, to choose which pet should attack someone with the Skill.

Ex: Ive now 3 pets with me and i want, that my phoenix attacks Enemy X with skill Y, so i click my phoenix and then press the button for skill Y so that my phoenx attacks then with the ksill enemy X.
Should my tiger attack with this skill somebody, then i chosse first out of my pets the tiger and use then the skill ...
so the control of pets should get better, like controling heroes.

Some will begin to whine about it then like this:
*But then rangers become too strong*

But i think, how beast mastery is at the moment, its boring, when ur pets act not more like only dumb henchmen and u as their master have not the ability to control them really, as u should, other then giving them only orders per skills, how they should attack.
Under beast mastery i understand, then i can control more than 1 beast and that I'm able to control my pets at least so, like i can control the heroes, that i can set pet markers, that let them move to a certain point or do certain things, like luring single enemies, or spying around (used for maps to make places seeable for u)

beast mastery in this game has lots of unused potencial, i hope it gets better with GW2

The Minion Master will surely drop down in some way and if a pet is killed every 10 second, dont ask me why you can't do anything while your skills are disable.
